1900 Calendar

Every month of 1900 as a printable table, with public holidays, ISO week numbers and the year's eclipses, moon phases and meteor showers.

1900 has 365 days, starts on a Monday, is not a leap year, and runs to 52 ISO weeks. It runs from Monday 1 January 1900 to Monday 31 December 1900. There are 7 United States federal holidays in 1900, and none of them falls at a weekend. Worth knowing: 1900 divides by 4 but is not a leap year, because century years must also divide by 400.

  • ISO 8601 week number

Weeks start on Monday so that the week number in the left gutter applies to the whole row. ISO 8601 defines week 1 as the week containing the first Thursday of the year, which is why 1900 has 52 weeks and why 1 January is not always in week 1.

Meteor showers

Peak nights drift by about a day between years, because the Earth meets each stream at a fixed point in its orbit rather than on a fixed date. What changes the view far more is the Moon, so we compute how much of it is lit on the peak night of 1900.
Peak Shower Rate/hour Moon lit Viewing
3 January 1900 Quadrantids (debris from Asteroid 2003 EH1) 110 8% Dark sky, near new moon
22 April 1900 Lyrids (debris from Comet Thatcher) 18 47% Moonlight will wash out fainter meteors
6 May 1900 Eta Aquariids (debris from Halley's Comet) 50 53% Moonlight will wash out fainter meteors
30 July 1900 Southern Delta Aquariids (debris from Comet 96P/Machholz) 25 17% Mostly dark
